Atrium Medical Center standardizes business processes with Metricsphere and Oracle
Insight in business and clinical processes
Atrium Medical Center, one of the largest general hospitals with three locations in the South of the Netherlands,
has chosen an Oracle technology based Business Intelligence application. This application will provide management
insight into business as well as clinical processes inside the hospital. As a result they will be better able to
address requests and demands from internal as well as external third-party organizations.
Metricsphere has developed and implemented the new BI application based on the Oracle BI Suite Enterprise Edition.
Changes in the Dutch health care market have an increased effect on Atrium requiring higher efficiency levels in
provided care and management as well as lowering actual care costs. Information supporting these processes is stored
in several application systems and has been unified in the new developed BI application providing management control
information. As a result, this enables Atrium to better measure, evaluate and compare quality of provided care and
compare this to other healthcare organizations as well as improve their competitiveness.
Oracle Business Intelligence has been integrated with Atrium’s deployed Oracle E-Business applications already in use
since 2005. Standard available BI reports provide immediate insight into financial and procurement processes. In addition
to the standard reports, Metricsphere will develop a custom BI application. The final BI environment will help Atrium to
work more efficiently and improve its patient care.
